Parenting Plan / Custody Evaluations

When parents are unable to resolve custody and parenting time disputes, a Custody/Parenting Plan Evaluator is here to help.

Our evaluators conduct a thorough investigation, which may include interviews with both parents, the children (if appropriate), and other key individuals involved, such as teachers or family members. The goal of the custody evaluator is to provide the court with an objective, evidence-based recommendation regarding custody and visitation arrangements that are in the child(ren)'s best interests.

Parenting Plan Evaluations provide decision support around:

  • Identifying and addressing family dynamics affecting children's wellbeing

  • Identifying and collecting relevant collateral data

  • Conducting parent and child interviews and observations

  • Applying relevant data to the Best Interest Factors

  • Conducting attorney feedback sessions

  • Drafting reports

All Parenting Plan Evaluations are conducted based on AFCC best practice guidelines and Minnesota law and practice.
